Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing! In Connecticut, switching to and from suppliers normally occurs on your meter read date. Your meter read date is listed on your utility bill. On Eversource bills the meter read date is located in the top-left meter read section of your bill. On United Illuminating bills the meter read date is located in the ‘Your Account Information’ section on the first page of your bill. If you attempt to enroll with a supplier too close to your meter read date, you will not begin service until your following meter read date. The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority advises consumers to initiate an enrollment with a supplier at least 10 business days prior to their next meter read.
If you are completing your enrollment at least 10 business days prior to your next meter read date, you can expect to begin service with Public Power on your next meter read date. However, if you are less than 10 business days from your next meter read date, you can expect to begin service with the supplier on your meter read date the following month. Even if you are less than 10 business days from your next meter read date Public Power will attempt to submit your enrollment to allow for a start on your next meter read date. A few days following the submission of your enrollment request, the supplier will send you a confirmation email that provides your estimated contract start date based on the meter read cycle information provided by your utility. If any inaccurate information is provided during enrollment that causes the utility to reject the supplier’s enrollment request, there will be a delay in your enrollment.
